A) I was born in Los Angeles
in 1984, the youngest of six children. My parents came from the
Central American country of Honduras. I started acting in school
plays at the age of eight.
B) In 2006, I won the lead
role in a TV show about a young, unglamorous Latina woman who
gets a job at a fashion magazine in New York. The show was a
big hit in its first year. Last month I won the Emmy for Outstanding
Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
C) This month I received another
honor -- I was named Hispanic Woman of the Year by two Hollywood
publications.
