Many Republicans have objections
to parts of the president's bill. Rep. John Boehner is the leader
of the Republicans in the House of Representatives. In general,
Republicans think the bill has too much spending. They also say
that too much of the spending in the bill would not help the
economy, or at least would not help the economy quickly enough.
Republicans are worried about how the bill would increase the
budget deficit. The budget deficit is the difference between
how much the government spends and how much it gets in taxes.
The president's bill would cause the government to spend a lot
more than it takes in. And Republicans also say that the bill
should include more tax cuts. Republicans in Congress believe
that tax cuts are the quickest way to help the economy. Do
you think this is true? END OF STORY.
