Bush counts his "No Child Left Behind" law and his aid to Africa among his most important achievements.

What do you think of the quote on the screen, given during Bush's last address to the nation? Bush is known for his strong opinions and his insistence on sticking to a course of action, even if the situation changes. This is something that some people have criticized, while Bush's supporters believe it shows a man of principles and strength of character. Do you think that kind of attitude is a positive quality, or not? In his last days, he admitted to being " disappointed" that no weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. He also said that his "Mission Accomplished" speech was a mistake. Yet Bush says he accomplished good things and that history will judge his presidency positively. He says that his main accomplishment was keeping America safe from further terrorist attacks. Do you think he should take credit for that? Bush also has cited his "No Child Left Behind" educational reform program as one of his accomplishments. This legislation was designed to help public schools get better results in educating students, especially schools where many students weren't doing well. Many people, however, have criticized the law because it puts so much emphasis on testing and also because not enough money was provided to schools to make it work better. What do you think of No Child Left Behind?

In foreign relations, Bush has won praise for creating stronger ties with India and China. Another achievement is one relatively unnoticed by the media: Bush's efforts to fight AIDS in Africa and the Caribbean. He got $15 billion in funding toward these efforts, and also funded a successful program fighting malaria in third-world countries. Why do you think Bush's Africa program has received so little attention? What do you think Bush will be most remembered for?
